THE
FACES OF ELLIS ISLAND
Story Note Cards
As the ship entered
the harbor, an old man dropped to his
knees, thanking God. A mother lifted her infant, shouting,

light falling upon the face of a young boy.

down his cheek and rested in the fold of
his tattered shirt as he turned and looked into the faces of
those who became The Faces of Ellis Island. The boy
would begin to tell their story, and reflect on this moment
when everyone spoke the same language
